Built for Arizona summers

IV therapy for heat exhaustion recovery in Phoenix, AZ.

Nobody has to explain Arizona heat to us; our clinic sits in it. From May through September, the desert pulls water out of you faster than most people can drink it back, and by the time you feel wrung out, headachy, and crampy, you are already well behind. A liter of IV fluids and electrolytes closes that gap in under an hour instead of over a day of sipping.

One thing before anything else: heat stroke is a 911 emergency, not an IV appointment. Read the warning signs below. For everything short of that, we are here Monday through Saturday, and summer walk-ins are half our business.

The desert math

Why drinking water isn't always enough out here.

In dry heat you can sweat faster than your gut can absorb, and sweat is not just water.

In dry desert heat you can lose more than a liter of sweat per hour, and evaporation is so fast you barely notice it happening. Your gut, meanwhile, can only absorb water at a limited rate, and that rate drops when you are overheated and your body is shunting blood away from digestion. That is the trap of an Arizona summer: past a certain point, you physically cannot drink your way back quickly, and chugging plain water without replacing sodium can leave you feeling worse.

IV rehydration skips the bottleneck. A liter of Lactated Ringer's with balanced electrolytes goes directly into your bloodstream, restoring fluid volume and the sodium, potassium, and other minerals sweat took with it. Landscapers, roofers, golfers, hikers, and youth-sports parents keep our chairs full from May to September for exactly this reason. It is a recovery tool for a body run dry by heat, not emergency medicine, and knowing the difference matters. See the red flags below.

A liter in under an hour

Fluid volume restored at a pace no amount of careful sipping can match, with zero work for an overheated gut.

Electrolytes, not just water

Sweat carries out sodium and minerals. Lactated Ringer's puts back the balance, which plain water alone cannot do.

Cool room, heated chair, done

Recover in air conditioning in a comfortable chair, and walk out feeling like the day is salvageable. Most visits run 45 to 60 minutes.

Know the 911 signs. This part is not marketing.

Heat stroke kills people in Arizona every summer. If someone has a body temperature over 103, hot skin that has stopped sweating, confusion, slurred speech, fainting, or seizure, call 911 immediately. Do not drive them to a wellness clinic and do not wait to see if they improve. IV vitamin therapy is not emergency care. We are for recovery from a hard, hot day, not for heat stroke, ever.

Straight answers

Heat Exhaustion Recovery questions, answered honestly.

Veteran-owned means we tell you the truth, including what a drip can't do.

How do I know if it's heat exhaustion or heat stroke?

Heat exhaustion looks like heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea, and muscle cramps, with a body temperature that is elevated but under about 103. Heat stroke is different in kind: temperature over 103, hot skin that may have stopped sweating, confusion, slurred speech, fainting, or seizures. Heat stroke is a 911 call, immediately, every time. When in doubt, call 911. A wellness drip can wait; heat stroke cannot.

I spent all day in the sun and feel terrible. Can I just walk in?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm, and summer afternoons are exactly when we expect you. Our nurse checks you in, takes vitals, and confirms a wellness drip is appropriate before any line goes in. If your condition looks like it needs medical care instead, we will say so plainly and help you get there. That screening is the point of having real medical oversight.

Why Lactated Ringer's instead of just drinking a sports drink?

Speed and completeness. A sports drink still has to get through an overheated gut that is absorbing slowly, and most are heavy on sugar relative to their electrolytes. Lactated Ringer's is a balanced electrolyte solution delivered straight into your bloodstream, so a full liter is on board in under an hour. Sports drinks are fine for maintenance during activity; the IV is for when you are already behind.

Can outdoor workers set up a regular hydration schedule?

Absolutely, and plenty do. Landscapers, pool techs, roofers, and framers around Anthem and New River come weekly or biweekly through the hot months. First responders and military take 15% off every visit, and a new account gets $25 off the first drip when you sign up. Talk to us and we will build a rhythm that fits your season.
